<p>Where I left off&#8230;The <a title="Norway" href="http://jake-cohn.com/2011/03/august-2010-march-2011/" target="_blank">Norway trip </a>concluded with more rain and a random adventure to Stockholm. I was stoked upon my return to Whistler because I was yet again met with powder. Truly the endless winter…. <a title="Andre Strain" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/2011/04/16/skiing-disease-ridge-dumb-human/" target="_blank">Some spring tours and photo shoots</a> lasted me until the<a title="WSI" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/tag/twssf/" target="_blank"> TELUS World Ski &amp; Snowboard Festival</a> where for 10 days I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to be everywhere at once.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/21816423" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>May</strong></span></p>
<p>As soon as the festival ended I was on a flight back to Colorado to have surgery on my shoulder. Surgery went well&#8230;and there’s no better place than home once you get out of an operation. Thanks MOM</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Picture.3.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-643" title="Jake about to surg" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Picture.3.jpg" alt="jake cohn, shoulder surgery" width="579" height="500" /></a></p>
<p>The week went fast, thanks to the drugs ,then it was up to Boulder to watch my brother Graduate from the University of Colorado, with honors. Congratulations Char! After a few nights of eating the finest food  in Boulder I was off to my house in Mexico to meet up with 8 of my best friends and &#8220;rehab&#8221; my shoulder. <a title="Hereward Longley, Blog" href="http://herewardlongley.com/blog/2011/08/19/sexico/" target="_blank">To read some awesome stories about our Mexico trip check out Hereward’s Blog and laugh your ass off! </a>What a trip.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/25108508" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe></p>
<p>After the Mexico trip It was back to Vancouver for my turn at the graduation celebrations. After a great week with my family and friends plus an excellent ceremony I was a graduated man. <em>What&#8217;s next real life? </em></p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_83651.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-615" title="Graduated" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_83651.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Charlie Cohn, mexico, Cabo Plumo, paris, ski, Crankworx, albania, peace corps, Green River, Argentina, Bariloche, Patagonia" width="560" height="350" /></a></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">June </span></strong></p>
<p>Then the Playoffs…. Not much needs to be said except I planed my entire schedule around the Canucks and partying. Then the city Rioted….</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/25186377" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe></p>
<p>As soon as the riot ended I flew to Colorado for the week. Telluride did the trick as I badly  needed to get out of Vancouver. After a week at home I was ready to travel again and I got on a flight to Paris.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;"><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_4918.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-617" title="Paris" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_4918.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Charlie Cohn, mexico, Cabo Plumo, paris, ski, Crankworx, albania, peace corps, Green River, Argentina, Bariloche, Patagonia" width="550" height="275" /></a> </span></strong><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">July</span></strong></p>
<p>My week in Paris was consumed by everything tourist. After eight day&#8217;s I&#8217;d seen enough. I took the metro to the airport and got a flight to Albania, with a 10 hour stop over in Butapest. Holy Albania. I bet you’re asking why would I go to Albania… well my friend Adam happens to be working over there for the Peace Corps.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/100_1051.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-618" title="Hiking in Albania" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/100_1051-225x300.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Charlie Cohn, mexico, Cabo Plumo, paris, ski, Crankworx, albania, peace corps, Green River, Argentina, Bariloche, Patagonia" width="225" height="300" /></a><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_5353.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-620" title="Guns" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_5353-168x300.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Charlie Cohn, mexico, Cabo Plumo, paris, ski, Crankworx, albania, peace corps, Green River, Argentina, Bariloche, Patagonia" width="168" height="300" /></a><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_5353.jpg"><br />
</a>After a week hitchhiking around the country I was off to Greece for a hot minute then back to Canada for the Whistler Bike Festival Crankworx. Much like the TELUS Festival in April I once again ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to be everywhere at once.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/26937340" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">August</span></strong></p>
<p>The lower mainland was blessed with sun for the first eight days so like any fake half-breed Canadian I went wakesurfing and enjoyed the long days.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/27455490" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen allowFullScreen></iframe></p>
<p>On August 9th I flew back to Colorado/Utah to go rafting. My favorite five days of the summer. Great friends, good food and lots of laughing.</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_11321.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-625" title="RIver Trips" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/IMG_11321.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Charlie Cohn, mexico, Cabo Plumo, paris, ski, Crankworx, albania, peace corps, Green River, Argentina, Bariloche, Patagonia" width="560" height="370" /></a></p>
<p>After the river I hopped back up to British Columbia where I had four days to move out of my house in Whistler and pack for South America. Then on August 21 I slithered out of bed onto a three flights followed by a 22-hour bus ride that eventually arrived in Patagonia, Argentina.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;"> AND IT WAS SNOWING!</span></strong></span></p>

<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">August</span></strong></p>
<p>I’m just going to continue where I left off…. Monday, August 9 in Whistler, the  <em><a title="Out of the Shadows world premier" href="http://dendritestudios.com/2010/08/world-premiere-goes-off/" target="_blank">Out of the Shadow</a></em><a title="Out of the Shadows world premier" href="http://dendritestudios.com/2010/08/world-premiere-goes-off/" target="_blank">s World Premier</a>. A F*n great time, sold out crowd, and a hotel room with stories that stay in Whistler (Gidion, Eliel, and flying lamps&#8230;)</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/60557_534139418461_30001731_31565684_5282237_n.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-579" title="14 feet on snow" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/60557_534139418461_30001731_31565684_5282237_n.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, jake-cohn.com, SGT, SASS, 1STEP, 1Step now, Miles Clark, Andrew Strain, Salt Lake Shootout, Unofficial networks, unofficial whistler, unofficialwhistler.com, unofficialnetworks.com, salt lake shootout, deep winter, team strain, eliel hindert, Norway, japan, Skiing the seven continents, tour, university of british columbia, graduation, Dendrite Studios, Out of the Shadows, Telluride, Charlie Cohn, Brother Charles, Silverton is sick, GNAR, Powder Video Awards, Peak to Valley Race, Hut Trip, touring, whistler, whistler blackcomb, storm, powder, ski, skiing, skier, photo contest, photography, " width="286" height="348" /></a><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/hip.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-582" title="Jake on a Hip" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/hip.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, jake-cohn.com, SGT, SASS, 1STEP, 1Step now, Miles Clark, Andrew Strain, Salt Lake Shootout, Unofficial networks, unofficial whistler, unofficialwhistler.com, unofficialnetworks.com, salt lake shootout, deep winter, team strain, eliel hindert, Norway, japan, Skiing the seven continents, tour, university of british columbia, graduation, Dendrite Studios, Out of the Shadows, Telluride, Charlie Cohn, Brother Charles, Silverton is sick, GNAR, Powder Video Awards, Peak to Valley Race, Hut Trip, touring, whistler, whistler blackcomb, storm, powder, ski, skiing, skier, photo contest, photography, " width="271" height="348" /></a></p>
<p>The day after I was off to South America for a summer&#8230;wait, winter adventure. I traveled to South America to ski and hang with the <a title="SGT" href="http://www.sassglobaltravel.com/" target="_blank">SGT</a> Crew. I was also working on sustainable projects with <a title="1STEP" href="http://www.1stepnow.com/" target="_blank">1STEP</a>. With help from <a href="http://chanellesladics.com/" target="_blank">OneLife</a> and Chanelle Sladics entourage  we constructed two greenhouses out of plastic bottles and began the final touches on the bio-diesel converter at the SASS compound.  I was also fortunate enough to witness 14 feet of snow in one week, the mountain closed but when it opened the powder was awesome. While at SASS I had the pleasure of meeting <a title="Miles Clark" href="http://www.milesclark.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Miles Clark</a> which would prove to later be one of the most pivotal contacts of my life.</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/58900_472378295922_558585922_7172773_1487780_n.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-575" title="Greenhouse made of plastic bottles" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/58900_472378295922_558585922_7172773_1487780_n.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, jake-cohn.com, SGT, SASS, 1STEP, 1Step now, Miles Clark, Andrew Strain, Salt Lake Shootout, Unofficial networks, unofficial whistler, unofficialwhistler.com, unofficialnetworks.com, salt lake shootout, deep winter, team strain, eliel hindert, Norway, japan, Skiing the seven continents, tour, university of british columbia, graduation, Dendrite Studios, Out of the Shadows, Telluride, Charlie Cohn, Brother Charles, Silverton is sick, GNAR, Powder Video Awards, Peak to Valley Race, Hut Trip, touring, whistler, whistler blackcomb, storm, powder, ski, skiing, skier, photo contest, photography, " width="558" height="348" /></a></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">September -December</span></strong></p>
<p>Speeding through the next four months of fall: I began my final semester at the University of British Columbia. Traveled to Utah for the SLC Dendrite Premier. Made a season edit <a title="Season edit" href="http://jake-cohn.com/video/" target="_blank">HERE,</a> did some early season tours (I skied in every month of 2010). I continued training with my post gradutaion plan of working one of Whistler&#8217;s many restaurant and being a ski bum&#8230; but one day I received a life changing email from Mr. Miles Clark (which I almost trashed because I thought it was spam).  The email read: &#8220;Unofficial Networks seeks pupil, must have an earnest desire to ski and edit videos&#8221;. It was a perfect fit and I got the job running <a title="Unofficial Whistler" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/category/locations/whistler/" target="_blank">Unofficial Whistler.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/diamond_head_003.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-569" title="diamond_head_003" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/diamond_head_003.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, Early Sesaon Shred" width="223" height="348" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/diamond_head_0221.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-572" title="diamond_head_022" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/diamond_head_0221.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, jake-cohn.com, SGT, SASS, 1STEP, 1Step now, Miles Clark, Andrew Strain, Salt Lake Shootout, Unofficial networks, unofficial whistler, unofficialwhistler.com, unofficialnetworks.com, salt lake shootout, deep winter, team strain, eliel hindert, Norway, japan, Skiing the seven continents, tour, university of british columbia, graduation, Dendrite Studios, Out of the Shadows, Telluride, Charlie Cohn, Brother Charles, Silverton is sick, GNAR, Powder Video Awards, Peak to Valley Race, Hut Trip, touring, whistler, whistler blackcomb, storm, powder, ski, skiing, skier, photo contest, photography, " width="239" height="348" /></a></p>
<p>With my new job I was soon on my way to San Francisco for “official” Unofficial Networks training.  After a great weekend with an awesome crew it was back to Vancouver for finals, graduation and some early season Whistler Pow. After my last test I let out a noise that is only made once a student finishes his/her last test in their scholastic career, and this noise can only be heard by people enrolled in scholarly activity. Quite the sound.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/17737764" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p>Then it was home to Telluride, Colorado for the holidays where Mr. weatherman was reporting on a “storm of epic proportions, eight feet”. Telluride received nothing, however <a title=" brother charles" href="http://jake-cohn.com/brother-charles/" target="_blank">brother Charles</a> and I did get a powder day at Silverton! SICK</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/18482083" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">January</span></strong></p>
<p>Back to Vancouver for more powder skiing and the <a title="Deep Winter Photo Challenge" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/2011/01/21/2011-deep-winter-photo-challenge-behind-the-scenes-with-team-andrew-strain/" target="_blank">Deep Winter Photo Challenge</a> with pro photographer <a title="ANDREW STRAIN" href="http://www.andrewstrain.com/" target="_blank">Andrew Strain</a>, <strong>AND</strong> team Strain got third place. Then the snow faucet turned off in whistler. It rained and I went Ice skating&#8230;but not for long because I was on a flight back to Colorado for SIA and the X-games. <a title="GNAR" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/gnar/" target="_blank">Unofficial Networks’ movie GNAR</a> was nominated for best documentary in the <a title="Powder Video Awards" href="http://www.powderawards.com/" target="_blank">PVA’s </a>. and in my opinion should have won.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/19006275" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Feburary</span></strong></p>
<p>Back to Whistler for the week where I competed in the Peak to Valley Race (my first ski race in about 15 years) I borrowed some spandex and got race skis courtesy of Salomon.</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/cohn.jake_.gmail_.com_1.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-578" title="Jake Cohn in the Peak to Valley Race" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/cohn.jake_.gmail_.com_1.jpg" alt="Jake Cohn, jake-cohn.com, SGT, SASS, 1STEP, 1Step now, Miles Clark, Andrew Strain, Salt Lake Shootout, Unofficial networks, unofficial whistler, unofficialwhistler.com, unofficialnetworks.com, salt lake shootout, deep winter, team strain, eliel hindert, Norway, japan, Skiing the seven continents, tour, university of british columbia, graduation, Dendrite Studios, Out of the Shadows, Telluride, Charlie Cohn, Brother Charles, Silverton is sick, GNAR, Powder Video Awards, Peak to Valley Race, Hut Trip, touring, whistler, whistler blackcomb, storm, powder, ski, skiing, skier, photo contest, photography, " width="558" height="348" /></a></p>
<p>The day after the Peak to Valley Race I was on a flight  with Andrew Strain and Eliel Hindert traveling to Utah for the <a title="SLC Shootout" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/2011/02/19/dominating-utah-local-photographer/" target="_blank">Ski Salt Lake Shootout,</a> After a week of photos out team came in second place  (See the SLC Shootout Videos <a title="SLC shootout" href="http://unofficialnetworks.com/2011/02/19/dominating-utah-local-photographer/" target="_blank">HERE </a>). Back to whistler for three days of continuos  snow then I boarded a flight to Japan to meet up with Unofficial Networks and help complete the Aisa section of their Skiing the Seven Continents project. It stopped snowing with I arrived in Japan but it was still an awesome time with some good people. I love Japan.</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/20844527" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">March</span></strong></p>
<p>I returned to Whistler and was welcomed with three weeks of non-stop snow and colder than normal temperatures! I skied champagne powder daily and embarked on a hut trip with my brother and some of my best friends!</p>
<p><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/20550382" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p>Not ideal conditions for filming but great skiing! Then the super-storm in Whistler ended and the next day I was on a flight to Norway, because apparently they have most snow in Europe. But now it&#8217;s raining and thats why I am inside blogging on jake-cohn dot com <img src='http://jake-cohn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> .  However stay tuned for a update from Scandinavia, if it ever snows&#8230;</p>

<p><a href="http://katalinnovations.com/">The Landing Pad used in the Opening Ceremony. Good Job KATAL</a></p>
<p>My olympic experience was AWESOME. I was a little Olympic monkey and took full advantage of everything the Olympics had to offer. My family visited me in Vancouver and we attended freestyle, hockey, skeleton, speed-skating  and the Ceremonies. After they left I began my work with <a href="http://www.cleanairchampions.ca/CAC/Default.aspx">Clean Air Champion</a>s in the Whistler Athlete village. Check back for photos of the athlete village and my gourmet meals. Working with Clean Air Champions was super fun and I am really excited to be on board with them. Visit: <a href="http://www.cleanairchampions.ca/CAC/Default.aspx">http://www.cleanairchampions.ca</a>.</p>

<p>Kerry got us into the <a href="http://www.thankyoumom.com/olympic-family-home.jsp">Proctor and Gamble house</a> where I took full advantage of the free food and massages.</p>
<p><a href="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/24251_333060616375_507566375_3752280_1784245_n.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-389" title="24251_333060616375_507566375_3752280_1784245_n" src="http://jake-cohn.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/24251_333060616375_507566375_3752280_1784245_n-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>Being part of Speedy&#8217;s entourage was rad because we got to go to the Under Armor Party. Some drinks were consumed. Oh ya and thats body paint.</p>
<p>Check back for more pictures and videos from Vancouver.</p>

<p>I am pleased to announce that before I left for Asia I became a SAXX ambassador.  SAXX is a revolutionary men’s underwear company. If you are wondering how men’s underwear can be revolutionary take a look at the SAXX idea. Basically it’s about keeping your frank and beans on the same plate, in one area free from contact of the legs. “All SAXX feature Comfort Side Panels which provide men with contact free comfort, support, and great feel. Designed with a breathable thin mesh, SAXX Comfort Side Panels contour to the natural shape of men”. I wore my SAXX on my trip and lets just say that they became my favorite pair of underwear, and I won’t wear anything else while traveling. I would recommend SAXX underwear to every guy reading this post.  Guys if you put money toward one thing on your body…make it your package. Get a pair of SAXX.</p>
